Scroggin/trail mix/gorp is a combination of any fruit and nut mix, and is a great snack. Ensure you take about 1 serve per day in your pack. This can be added to a number of recipes to boost the nutrition, and it can serve as an emergency ration. Any combination of fruit or nuts can work. Add some banana chips, marshmallows or small chunks of chocolate if you want. Note that any variation will change the nutritional value. Grams and kj are written per one serve.

1) Preheat a fan forced oven to 160°C.
2) Roast the nuts for about 20 mins, then let cool completely.
3) In the meantime, chop the dates and apricots and place them in a bowl and add the dried cranberries, pumpkin seeds and sesame seeds.
4) When the nuts are cooled, add them to the mix.
5) Then place all ingredients into the allocated bag.
