Short day walks

Carnarvon Gorge offers 3 short walks to give you a taste of what this national park is all about.

1. Nature Trail

Starting from  Carnarvon Gorge visitor area this circuit walk is best taken at dawn or dusk to see the most of wildlife. If lucky you can also spot the platypus.

2. Mickey Creek Gorge

This walk starts from Mickey Creek car park which is located 4km from the park entrance, along the unsealed access road to Carnarvon Gorge visitor area. It’s a great walk to take the kids who’ll enjoy scrambling and rock hopping. Perhaps you’ll also spot swamp wallabies and echidnas.

3. Rock Pool

Rock Pool is the only designated spot for swimming. Pack some food and have a picnic at this nice lunch spot in the shade of fig and casuarina trees. Electric/fuel barbecue (free of charge) and toilets are located at the picnic area.
