This walk starts at the end of Kosciuszko Road, Charlotte Pass, and follows a paved footpath down, between lightly scattered snow gums, to the bottom of the valley, where it comes to the famous Snowy River. The Foremans Hut ruins can be found along the optional side trip described in the notes.

(0 km) Find the Covered in snow part of the year at the start.

(0 km) Find the Charlotte Pass Lookout at the start.
(0 km) Then find the "Snow Gums and the Alpine Tree Line" (25 m on your right).
(0 km) Then find the "Charlotte Pass lookout" (20 m on your right).

(0.5 km) After another 520 m (at the intersection of Main Range Walking Track & Snowies Alpine Walk) continue straight, to head along Main Range Walking Track.
(0.8 km) After another 215 m cross the stepping stones.

(0.7 km) At the intersection of Main Range Walking Track & Snowy River continue straight, to head along Main Range Walking Track.
(0.8 km) After another 45 m come to "Snowy River crossing".
